Showing Checklist
Front and back porches are to be cleaned, free of personal items. Clean light fixtures and install a new door mat. Don’t forget to remove cobb webs and dust around windows.
Make sure beds are made nicely and bedrooms are tidy.
Remove personal items (makeup, cream, toothbrushes, jewelry, etc.) from bathroom counters and shower. A plastic tote, that can easily fit under the sink, can work nicely for daily use items to be stored.
Ensure items in cabinets, pantry, laundry room, and garage are tidy and organized (resembling a store).
Closets should be kept at 70% capacity and keep the floor space as empty as possible. This helps make closet spaces look larger.
Ensure landscaping is well-manicured (weekly). Keep lawn, bushes, and trees trimmed around the property.
Daily, the interior of home needs to be kept very clean and tidy.
Daily, keep sink clean and dishes put away.
Place trash cans out of sight.
Most buyers want a pet-free home, so keep pets and related items out of sight during showings.
Only if necessary, use very light fragrances.
Open blinds and turn on lights to set the ambiance.
Create a “drop off” drawer for bills/mail.
Place 3M hooks on backside of bath doors for damp/daily use towels – so “stage” ready towels are not used.
Floors should be cleaned – including carpet or refresh products for wood floors.
